Week of 1/29...

It's been a crazy busy week, so I'm a little behind.  Better late than never though, right?!

On Sunday, January 29th I went to Crib 4 Life in Brandon and ordered the nursery furniture. We selected Baby's Dream, the Renaissance collection.  The solid back crib, double dresser and five drawer chest will be delivered the last weekend in February. Here is a picture of the crib:

On Monday, January 30th I had an OB appt.  This was a fun one! I got to have my iron checked, get my RhoGAM shot and do my one hour glucose challenge.  My iron was fine, the shot didn't hurt a bit(despite the nurse telling me it would burn...hello, I have daily Lovenox shots...those are not comfy) BUT I failed my glucose challenge by one point. My OB wants to see 130 or less and my glucose was 131, I said, "Geez, if I have to fail it should be by a bunch not just one point, how aggravating", she didn't seem to find the humor in that...oops.  The three hour glucose test is now in my future.  We also decided that at 35/36 weeks I will go off of Lovenox, go back on baby aspirin and will have NSTs done weekly.  So no scheduled induction, yippee!  Of course knowing my luck, I will have to be induced anyway, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

On Thursday Shelly had her nursing pinning ceremony! She is officially Shelly Grizzle, GPN. I just had to put that in here because we are so proud of her!

Friday was a big day for the family, Joanna and Carlos welcomed my niece into the world.  Abigail Grace weighed in at 5 lbs, 13 oz and was 20 inches long. Congratulations guys!

Also on Friday Rick's nephew Jeff and his friend Mark came down from Kansas for their annual golf outing.  We went to the Dunedin brewery and then to Blur...a fun night was had by all!

Saturday Rick and I went to Morton Plant for our hospital tour.  I just can't believe we're getting so close!

  1. How very exciting. Love the crib can't wait to see a photo of the finished nursery.

  2. Think positively! I'm sending so much love and positive energy for a happy, empowering, positive birth experience! The first step to that - no induction drugs (they make labor much more difficult!)

Call me day or night with any questions or if I can help you at all!
