Saturday, September 8th - The Wedding

It was another busy day at our house getting ready for Adam & Kim's wedding. I couldn't resist taking a couple of pictures of Colton though:

It doesn't seem like it was that long ago when we were at Adam's elementary school festival, his science fair in middle school and watched him graduate from high school. Time sure does go by so fast. I remember when I used to think only "old people" said that, HA! Adam & Kim's wedding and reception was held at Sunken Gardens and it was beautiful. Thankfully the weather cooperated and the ceremony was held outside in the gardens as planned.

The reception was very nice and fun was had by all. During the reception Adam & Kim announced that they are having a little girl.  I think there were more than a few lost bets in the room that night! I planned to take a bunch more pictures but somehow doing that and taking care of an infant don't go well together. If you are interested in seeing the pictures I took click here (of course there is Mia cuteness).

There was a photo booth at the reception, which was a big hit...there was always a line to get in. I can't say enough good things about Picture Cubby, they had so many great props and were so helpful(and tolerant). If you have some time to kill and want a few laughs, click here to see more of those pictures(and more Mia cuteness...or torture as I'm sure she will call it when she grows up).

Although Kim has been a part of the family for a while now, it was nice to officially welcome her to our crazy clan! We love her and couldn't have picked a better woman for Adam to share his life with, they are wonderful together.

Kim & Adam - We wish you much love and happiness in the years to come!

Friday, September 7th

Jeremy, Bridgett, Alexis, Cameron and Colton arrived Thursday night. It was so good to see everyone and meet Colton for the first time. We had a busy day planned, first up was a photo shoot for Alexis, Cameron and Colton with the amazing Amanda from Premier Photography Inc. While they were taking their pictures Mia was just hanging out enjoying the sunshine.

The weather started turning pretty quickly so we packed up and headed back to the house for Amanda to finish up Colton's pictures. Here is an example of how she took a picture and what the final picture looked like...you would never guess it wasn't done in a studio!

Here are a couple of my favorite pictures from the photo shoot, to view them all click here.

Next on the agenda for the day was Adam & Kim's rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. When we were getting ready Alexis thought Mia should wear some matching shades.

The rehearsal dinner was at Primi Urban Cafe. I can not recommend them enough! They closed the restaurant for our private party and the food was plentiful and amazing. I took quite a few pictures that night if you want to see them: Rehearsal Dinner Pictures. Here is a picture of their beautiful banner made by Uniquely Me Designs.

Stay tuned for their wedding post!

Week of September 3rd...

From my previous posts, you know that Monday, September 3rd was our 12 year wedding anniversary and also the day we came back from Texas. That day also kicked off the week of Adam's wedding. Of course I will have a post dedicated to the wedding, so here I will just post some Mia pics from the week!

9/3 - First meal in her new high chair!

9/4 - Back to daycare, she doesn't seem to mind

I did a review of JJ Cole Collections Baby Necessities for LeeAnn. Bibs were part of the review, here are my favorite pics of Mia eating in her JJ Cole bib 9/4.

9/5 - Infatuated with the mobile on her swing

9/5 - Mom, why did you take me out of my swing?!

9/6 - Daddy's little girl is oh, so happy!

Next up will be the arrival of Jeremy and family as well as their photo shoot and Adam & Kim's rehearsal!

Our 12th Anniversary

September 3rd was our 12 year anniversary. I can't believe so much time has passed since we were married. When you add in the five years we dated before getting married, it doesn't even seem possible that much time has gone by. The last 17 years were not without a few bumps in the road, but together we have gotten through whatever came our way. I am so thankful that I have Rick, I can't imagine a life without him!

One of the happiest days of my life...

September 1st

September 1st was a special day, it was one year to the day that my pregnancy was confirmed via ultrasound. While I had taken several tests at home and had three blood tests, I was anxiously awaiting my first ultrasound. I can not adequately put into words the emotions that I felt when we heard Mia's heartbeat for the first time. It was an amazing day to say the least.

The Pink Ladies

Once we found out we were having a girl, my sister joked that we would have our own Pink Ladies. Shelly had adorable tutus and bloomers made for Abbie, Ella & Mia. I ordered onesies to complete the look and couldn't wait to see the girls together all dressed up. It was an interesting adventure to say the least. Despite what it might look like in the pictures, we do love our daughters!  I will put a couple pictures here, for the full dose of hilarity click here.

Our Trip To Texas

We had an amazing time in Texas, as always. I love my family, I love that there are so many of us and that everyone is so close. We stayed at my sister Joanna's house this time and it worked out great since she had all of her baby stuff for us to use. During the trip we went to my brother JR's new house several times, it is beautiful and we are so happy for JR and Kelly. Unfortunately, I did not take any pictures over there. Actually I didn't take as many pictures as I should have over the entire trip. That's how it usually goes though, I have the best of intentions and then we all get to talking!

Of course I do have some pictures to share, most of them are from our second day. My niece Madison asked if she could take some pictures with my camera too, she did pretty good! I will post a few of my favorite pictures here, if you want to see the all of the pictures follow this link.

Our Frequent Flyer

For the last several years we have gone to Texas to visit my family over Labor Day weekend, this year was no different. This was Mia's second trip via airplane and she did just as well this time around. On the way back from Texas the flight was full so she had to sit on our laps instead of having her own seat. We weren't quite sure how that would go, but she(and our arms) did just fine.

All buckled in...

Look Who's Eating...

Mia likes to watch us eat. She follows the food from our plates to our mouths with what seems like great interest. So, when Mia turned four months old we couldn't wait to see what she thought of trying baby food. Here are pictures of her first meal of sweet potatoes and rice cereal, it went pretty well!

We decided that it was definitely time to order a high chair!

August 27th: Four Months Old

Mia is getting so big, it's hard to believe that she was once a newborn that didn't move around much or make any sounds. She likes to test her volume control when she talks now, and boy does she talk! Daycare says she has a lot to say there too. As you saw in a previous post, she is rolling over now and changing and  dressing her is becoming quite a sport. I swear she knows what she's doing, when she looks at me and giggles while she is turning and wiggling around. I can't get frustrated, she's too darn cute and just cracks me up!

I wish there were more hours in the day, so that I could enjoy more time with her. Our daily routine is pretty well established now. In the morning Rick feeds Mia while I get ready, then I get her ready and we head out the door. In the evening we all get home, play for a very brief time, then it's time for her bath, jammies, bottle, story and then off to bed. She is doing very well at night, if she does wake up in the wee hours I cheat and bring her in bed with us...love those snuggles!

Here are some pictures of Mia's four month "photo shoot". You can see that she is full of personality and let's us know how she feels.

She's talking to me here, I think she's telling me she's about done!

Laughing and gearing up...

...to roll away from the camera

Since I couldn't take a subtle hint or two, she decided to make it very clear to me that she was done with the pictures!
